The face of a boy, smiling. Differentiated from the man emoji on Android by wearing a cap, and on iOS by the lack of any facial hair. It is difficult to discern the boy from the man emoji on Windows, as the two are very similar in appearance.
Boy was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
The Boy emoji supports skin tone modifiers. A yellow (or other non-human) skin tone should be shown by default, unless an emoji modifier is applied.
Platforms without support for emoji modifiers display a missing symbol character (box with a cross, alien, or question mark in it) next to any modified emoji.
